Dual Product Logic
Not every product on the site is available for direct purchase—some require reaching out to a dealer. We supported both models, enabling a seamless flow for standard eCommerce orders and distributor-driven sales.
A straightforward Volusion migration, custom dealer locator, and scalable content control—done right.
Platt Cases, a longtime manufacturer of custom carrying cases, had outgrown its legacy Volusion platform. The team needed a modern eCommerce site that could handle both consumer orders and a network of distributors—with clean, intuitive functionality for both. But like many manufacturers, Platt didn’t need flashy. They needed solid.
This project wasn’t about bells and whistles. It was about clarity. Stability. And giving Platt more control.
We rebuilt the site on BigCommerce using our Accelerator model—delivering a fast, future-ready launch on a budget that made sense for their goals.
Platt’s existing site had two core problems: outdated architecture and limited flexibility. The legacy Volusion platform was holding them back—both in terms of design updates and backend management. Every change was a hassle. New content felt hard to manage. And the site couldn’t scale with their dealer model.
They needed something cleaner. Easier. Built for where they were headed—not just where they’d been.
We migrated Platt to BigCommerce using our streamlined Accelerator approach, balancing speed with customization where it counted most.
We used BigCommerce’s native PageBuilder to build structured, reusable content blocks—giving Platt full control over homepage updates without needing to touch code. Whether they’re updating seasonal messaging or swapping featured products, their team now has total autonomy.
Not every product on the site is available for direct purchase—some require reaching out to a dealer. We supported both models, enabling a seamless flow for standard eCommerce orders and distributor-driven sales.
The most custom aspect of the build? A fully bespoke dealer locator. Instead of plugging in a prebuilt app, we built a Firebase-hosted solution from scratch to support Platt’s unique needs—showing both the closest dealer and the assigned sales rep, based on a visitor’s location.
Users can search by ZIP, city, or address—and the results are snappy and precise. It’s a clean UX, but under the hood, it’s built to scale.
We handled integrations with PayPal, ShipStation, SharpSpring (for forms), and AccesiBe for accessibility—keeping things lean and practical, with a tech stack that supports both current needs and future growth.
To protect existing rankings, we matched Platt’s old URL structure wherever possible and set up targeted 301 redirects. No SEO equity lost in the move.
Platt didn’t need a reinvention. They needed a reset.
Today, they’re positioned for scalable growth with a site that supports direct and dealer sales, simplifies content updates, and doesn’t bottleneck their internal team.
It’s a great example of what manufacturers can accomplish with the right foundation—without overcomplicating the build.
"It was a pleasure working with the SwiftOtter team. Project management was professional and organized. Issues were promptly taken care of, and we’re very happy with our new website."
