A journey which, quite frankly, we are on ourselves. We have not achieved this test yet. And we have not heard of anyone that has passed it, either.
Why is this? This test requires the highest level of knowledge in every subject covered. This includes, but isn't limited to: sales, configuration, Commerce-related tools, GraphQL and testing.
To make matters more complicated, the score to pass the test is 84%. We are not complaining—this is Adobe's product. We are being straightforward that the path is potentially unreachable for most developers.
Because of the difficulty of this test, we are breaking up the journey into several pieces.
The first step in the journey is mastery of GraphQL. GraphQL links a frontend PWA (Progressive Web Application) and Adobe Commerce / Magento. Chris Nanninga, a veteran Adobe Commerce developer, takes you step-by-step through this process.
The Professional Developer Plus represents the next level certification for Magento backend development knowledge. It is our estimation that passing this test means you are in the top 5% of developer candidates. As agencies recognize the value of this certification, these developers will become in even more demand. To pass, you must achieve a score of 62% or higher.
