As of January 2023, Adobe has provided a pathway for certified individuals to renew their certification. No longer do experts on Adobe Commerce and Magento 2 have to retake the entire exam to remain current. We are excited to make this process plain and clear.
Note: in the time since this article and video were created, Adobe added the ability to renew Professional certifications. This means you can now renew all non-expired Professional, Expert, and Master certifications.
This is an important question to ask and answer as Adobe only allows for renewal of Expert or Master certifications.
In other words, you cannot renew your Professional certification now. You have to retake the entire exam. Better yet, take the Expert-level certification in your category to level up!
Put simply; it's as simple as 1..2..3:
Once you pass three assessments, all of your Expert and Master certifications will be renewed for another year.
Pick any three of these videos. Watch them, then take the associated assessment.
Keep in mind that this is continuing education. I didn't see the speakers discussing code or deeply-technical concepts. They are designed to inform you about helpful features or ideas.

Yes, you can. The difference is that a merchant has to sign off that you worked at least 100 hours on their project in the last 12 months. Getting someone to do this can be more hassle than it's worth. I recommend watching the third video and taking the test for it. It's not much extra time.
No. If you are familiar with the Magento 2 admin area, it's pretty easy. You may be surprised by the non-technical content in these videos. You will learn about Adobe Target, App Builder, and more. If these seem irrelevant and useless (they aren't), you should consider the alternative of retaking the entire Expert or Master exam. This route is well worth the small time investment.
They are surprisingly difficult to pass.
Here's my story: I passed the Business-focused assessments (ADR-EA703, ADR-EA704, ADR-EA705). The AI Automation test just about killed me; if Adobe is looking at test takes, they will see way too many takes for this one. This is because one of the correct answers is partially incorrect. One of the questions seems to be incorrectly loaded into their test system.
The good news is these tests are free and you can take them as many times as necessary.
