We were at BigSummit last week.
BigCommerce put on a massive show—it was impressive. We see through the hype, but it makes a point when enough money is spent on hype. The point was made. BigCommerce is proving that it lives up to its platform’s capabilities.
Additionally, I had the pleasure of participating in the exclusive, invite-only Partner Summit. Travis Hess, their new president seems exactly the right person to take the company forward.

I’ve seen plenty of experiences where people say “I was talking about buying an XYZ widget and I started seeing ads for it”. Weird coincidence, huh? I’ve read almost as many people explain that this is a psychological mechanism where we subconsciously want an XYZ widget, then they search for it, then they get ads for it. Nope, that’s not the case.

Fulfilled by Amazon...err... Walmart.
Guess what? Walmart now has its own fulfillment program. Merchants are less and less tied to using Amazon to fulfill all of their needs. Walmart’s program is not as robust, in part due to its fewer and slower shipping options. This is just getting off the ground, so we will see more later.

Google has been notifying merchants for the past couple of months that this change will happen—and it’s going to be wrapped up by September. The new environment has some great features, like AI-powered content creation (it’s about time), better analytics, and easier navigation. One of the better features is product Trend Insights, which helps you understand what customers want and ensure your product matches that.
