Darianne Tolbert

Location and Scenery: I live in the suburbs of Birmingham, AL right where the Appalachian Mountains end — so it’s full of rolling hills and plenty of forest. It’s mostly warm and sunny through the year.

Special Skills: My super power is interpersonal communication and relationship building. But I’d say I’m also skilled at process-thinking & filling in gaps.

Fun Fact: I learned photography in college (like every midwestern college student) and opened a local studio to serve the creative community.

What do you like to do to unwind outside of work: I love to spend quality time with my husband and toddler — exploring new places and traveling. Binge watching crime and medical dramas are a close second.

Favorite part of being an Otter: Being among the other otters!

Short Bio: I was born in Louisville, KY. I lived in Missouri in my early adulthood attending college, then I trekked to Maryland, shortly after, when I joined the military. I’ve finally settled in Alabama with my husband and son — where I’m currently convincing my husband that we need to raise chickens. Beyond my homesteading fantasies, my husband and I do a lot together like building studio sets and leading a local church plant.
